Missouri Right to Life Endorses John DeStefano

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Right to Life announced that it has endorsed John DeStefano in the race for the 34th district Senate seat. John is the only candidate in the race to receive the endorsement. Missouri Right to Life is Missouri’s oldest and largest pro-life organization. Their vision is to “Transform society to respect and protect all innocent human life.” Missouri Right to Life believes that John DeStefano will uphold and fight for those values.

“I am proud and honored to be the only candidate in this race to receive Missouri Right to Life’s endorsement,” said DeStefano. “I won’t say I’m pro-life at home and then vote a different way in Jefferson City. I am the pro-life candidate who will vote to uphold our Missouri values and traditions.”

John DeStefano is a Republican candidate for the 34th district Senate seat which comprises all of Buchanan and Platte County.

John DeStefano Announces for Missouri State Senate

Business leader, veteran and community volunteer John DeStefano announced his intention to seek the State Senate seat being vacated by Senator Charlie Shields due to term limits. DeStefano filed the necessary paperwork in Jefferson City on Tuesday.

“We need a leader in Jefferson City,” said DeStefano. “We need to make our state the leader in attracting and growing businesses. Right now our government is suffocating small businesses with taxes and regulations.”

DeStefano enlisted in the United States Army at age 19 and was chosen for Special Forces training, earning a spot in the famed Green Beret. He later graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Biology and added a Masters of Business Administration.  He has served on the board of several companies and worked for 30 years as an executive in an energy company. John believes his diverse life experience will help him as a legislator.

“I am not a career politician,” said DeStefano. “I understand what it takes to make our state competitive in jobs, in education and improve our quality of life. I want to help lead us forward.”

John and his wife Mary Pat have been married for over 30 years and raised their six children in Platte County.  DeStefano is a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and the National Rifle Association.
